This school year marks Mrs. Vehmeier's 21st year of teaching, all in early childhood, ages birth to six. It will be her fifth year at SJV. She is very excited to have the opportunity to job share with Mrs. Jaeger again this year. She feels it has truly been a blessing to collaborate and create a special clasroom community with her. Mrs. Vehmeier has always had a passion for working with our youngest learners and providing experiences that contribute to a lifelong love of learning. Since transitioning to Catholic education in 2020, she has truly enjoyed the faith-filled classroom. She believes in the importance of play, building a strong classroom community, and providing a rich social-emotional foundation for each of her students. Her favorite classroom activities include storytelling, circle time conversations, and open-ended math and science exploration.
On a personal note, she lives in Brookfield with her husband, Tobin, and dog, Ozzy. She has two adult children, Colin and Jack, who both live in Minneapolis. Outside of school, she loves walking her dog, visiting her children, and spending time on Lake Wisconsin.
Personal Goals: My goal for the year is to create a nurturing and supportive classroom environment where children love to come to school each day; to partner with parents as they begin the journey of education for their children at SJV.
