School Ministries

Saint John Vianney school is an award winning K4-Grade 8 with many volunteer opportunities. Parents, grandparents, parishioners and friends are warmly welcomed to assist with many aspects of school life. Often these activities are one-time events while others are meant to be longer term.

    Plan the first school social. A committee is needed to serve food, coordinate children’s games and supervise the evening.

  • Bids for Kids Biennial Auction

    Major fundraiser for the school every other year in February. Co-chairs begin meeting 15 months prior to plan the auction. Committee chairs and members are needed for many sub-committees. Meetings are held monthly.

  • Birthday Board

    Recognize student, staff and faculty birthdays. Design, create and maintain the birthday board in the hall by the cafeteria.

  • Box Tops

    Collect and submit Box Tops for added income to the school. Box Tops are organized, counted and submitted in October and February. Market program within parish and school.

    Celebrate Catholic Schools Week. Generally held the last week of January/first week of February, this committee plans the Sunday Open House and other special student events during the week long celebration.

  • Chess Club

    Schedule Chess Club dates with school administration, organize students, recruit chaperones for Chess Club meeting dates. Chess Club generally meets on Fridays, 2 sessions per year.

    Supports the mission of our school by providing funds for (1) the professional development and retention of highly-educated professionals and staff; (2) 21st Century education technology and upgrades, including mobile learning; and (3) tuition assistance for current and prospective students.

  • Dine Out For SJV

    Parish-wide fundraiser. Organize “SJV Night” one night each month at designated restaurant to earn money for the school.

  • Fine Arts

    Encourage and develop extra-curricular student interest in the Arts. Coordinate the annual fall talent show and spring musical. Chairs run auditions and rehearsals as well as lead make up, props, scenes, etc for the events.

    The goal of the St. John Vianney Library is to provide quality resources and learning opportunities through books and a variety of other formats to meet the educational and leisure needs of our students.
