St. John Vianney and Santisimo Sacramento Parish in Piura, Peru have been involved in a sister parish relationship since 2013. There are numerous opportunities to support the ministries provided by the staff of Santisimo Sacramento to their parishioners who live in extreme poverty in Piura and its surrounding villages.

Family to Family Program
Sponsor a Peruvian family by providing a monthly food package delivered to their home. This food package includes rice, beans, cooking oil, milk, and much more for $30 per month or $360 per year. You have the option to engage in a personal relationship with your Peru family by exchanging photos and letters. A minimum one year commitment is requested.

Trade School Scholarship Fund
Provide a student at the San Juan Maria Vianney Trade School with financial assistance to help them rise out of poverty by becoming educated and certified in one of the seven programs taught at the trade school. Scholarship funds will be allocated by the Trade School administrators who live with the reality of the students’ financial need. Two year programs include Auto Mechanics, Commercial Baking, Commercial Sewing, Computers, Cosmetology, and Construction. Nursing is a three-year program but at this time, no new students are being admitted during the pandemic. Your donation, which can be made in any amount, will be added to the scholarship fund for disbursement annually to students as determined by the Trade School administrative staff.

Support the Mother of the Redeemer Girls Home
Support the Mother of the Redeemer Home, which is run by Peruvian nuns, that houses and cares for girls from the ages of 8-18 years old. The girls live in the facility full-time, year round and are cared for and educated by the nuns. Financial support is needed to pay for food, basic needs such as hygiene products and clothing, education and housing costs. The home is funded solely on donations.

Medical Mission Donations
Santisimo Sacramento has a medical clinic and surgical suite on the parish grounds. The SJV medical mission team travels each January to Piura to provide free medical services to the poor. These services include hernia repairs, orthopedic services, medical and dental clinics. Donations are needed to help provide medical and surgical supplies, drugs, medications and dental supplies needed to offer these services each year by the medical team.
