Leading Our Children to God
Through our Faith Formation program, we assist parents/guardians in the awesome responsibility of leading their children to a personal relationship with God through the Gospel values of Jesus Christ and witnessed through their Catholic faith.
We provide the following:
- Reading and studying sacred scripture
- Teaching basic truths of the Catholic Church
- Participating in the Church’s sacramental life and prayer
- Relating experiences of Gospel values through loving acts of justice and service to their families, church, community, country, and world
- Revering all of God’s creation
Family Faith Formation Program for 2022-2023
You talked and we listened! Due to the positive feedback we received from our program this past year, we have decided to provide in-person and self-study options for this fall. There will be Sunday morning child-only sessions for grades K4 through 10th twice a month beginning on September 11, 2022. The sessions are scheduled from 9:15 AM to 10:45 AM. The classes will use the popular Finding God series from Loyola Press that was used last year.
Our Family Sessions will all be done in person and take place from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on the last or the next-to-last Sunday of each month. There will be no separate child-only sessions on those Sundays. Family Sessions will include activities for the whole family.
In addition, we will offer a self-directed option. Under this option, parents will register their students with SJV to access material that allows them to study from any device, anytime, anywhere. The materials are digitized and allow students to study at their own pace while the results are monitored by SJV Christian Formation staff. Quizzes are provided for each lesson, and students must achieve a score of 70% or better to pass. The provider, CatechismClass.com, was founded in 2004 and provides Catholic instructional materials faithful to the Magisterium in five different languages.
