Common Leadership Night

Six times a year, all of the standing committee members, plus their subcommittee liaison members, meet on one evening, called Common Leadership Night. Common Leadership Night serves to strengthen our parish community by improving communications and heightening a sense of common purpose and spirituality amongst parish leadership.

• Common Leadership Nights are held at 6:30 PM beginning in Church on:

  September 12, 2022
  November 14, 2022
  January 23, 2023
  March 6, 2023
  April 24, 2023
  June 5, 2023

• 6:30 pm GATHER AND PRAY:
  Committee members gather as one in the church for a gathering prayer and announcements

  6:45 pm MEET:
  Committees go to their designated meeting room and conduct committee meeting

  8:15 pm CONCLUDE:
  Committees conclude meetings and move to the church hall for two minute committee reports

  8:20 pm SECRETARIES’ SUMMARIES:
  Secretary of each committee reports to all on significant items discussed at the committee meeting

  8:40 pm ADJOURN:
  Meeting adjourns – refreshments and fellowship follows

  8:45 pm PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETS:
  Pastoral Council meeting commences

  This allows Pastoral Council members to be a part of other committees and discuss relevant information with the Pastoral Council at the end of the evening at the official Pastoral Council meeting.

• Becoming a Committee Member

  Parish members are discerned to these five standing committees each year in March and April through a nomination process. Nomination Weekend provides an opportunity for parish members to nominate themselves or someone they feel has the essential characteristics for the five Standing Committees. Nomination forms are collected at Mass.

  Committee terms begin on July 1 and are typically last for three years. Committee members continue to be discerned from the Parish at large, and Pastoral Council members are discerned from active members of one of the Parish’s five Standing Committees.

  What Happens after Nomination?

  Individuals who have been nominated for a leadership committee will be contacted by a member of Pastoral Council or an appointee of the committee. Nominees are invited to learn more about the committee by reading past meeting notes. Nominees will be invited to the April Common Leadership Night and have an opportunity to meet with the committees.
