Thank You from Fr. Alex Nwosu

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

“God is good, all the time – and all the time, God is good”. The past three years, my first ones as a priest, have allowed me to enter into the mystery of the Church in a new way. It is the Church of Christ of which we are all members and the same Church that brings us together. This community is blessed, and I have been blessed by being a part of it.

As I conclude my time at St. John Vianney, so many joyful memories come to mind: worshiping as God’s family on Sunday, welcoming our new Catholics through RCIA, hearing the beautiful sounds of children laughing and playing at our school, greeting you, your relatives, and friends before and after Mass, bringing the sacraments to the sick, enjoying the SJV Festival, ministering with our parish staff, and so many more.

I want to say thank you. First, I want to say thank you for the goodbye prayers, hugs, cards, and the parish-wide collection gift. I feel so blessed to have been surrounded by an outpouring of love at my last Mass as well as the reception. Second, thank you for your faith and devotion to Jesus. My own faith journey has been helped by being part of yours. You are a wonderful community of family and faith, and I treasure each of you. Even as I start my new chapter at Blessed Sacrament and Thomas Moore High School, I will always hold you all in my heart, especially at the altar of God.

I feel your love for God, the Church, your parish, and for me. Your love has sustained my faith and ministry. Your commitment to the Church keeps my hope alive. Your solidarity with others, from this community and beyond, is a sign that God is truly present at St. John Vianney.

Dear friends, I will always keep you in my heart and pray for you. Remember, “God is good, all the time – and all the time, God is good”.

With my deepest gratitude to God and to you,

Father Alex Nwosu
