In a recent evaluation of our Mass attendance & capacity, a decision was made to add a Sunday morning Mass to our lineup. Parish/volunteer leadership and parishioners were asked to weigh in on how best to choose the right times. After thoughtful reflection and an overwhelming response to times, final decisions have been made. Beginning November 1st, our Mass times will be: Saturday, 4:30 PM (livestreamed), Sunday, 7:30 AM, 9 AM, 11 AM and 5 PM. The last 8:30 AM Sunday morning Mass will be on October 25. Live streaming will also be moved from the 8:30 AM Mass to our 4:30 PM Mass. These new Mass times go into effect November 1 and please remember Daylight Savings Ends on November 1st as well so please plan accordingly!
Facemasks, hand sanitizer and patience are still needed as you come early to celebrate the Mass. Tell your family & friends!
We will continue to have limited capacity for some time and with the expiration of the Mass Dispensation – please make your own choice if you will join us in person or if you will worship from home. St. John Vianney is truly one community, worshiping at Calhoun Road and worshiping online, united in one faith.
In addition, the narthex has been reorganized to be more welcoming and to be prepared for overflow seating as needed. This reorganization added 60 additional seats. These additional seats, the 3 hallway pews and our current limited capacity within the church proper will bring our expected Mass capacity from 225 to 290. The black folding chairs are in small groups in key areas, safely spaced, and will only be opened as needed. Please refrain from moving the furniture around and encourage each other to respect the safe spacing.
Even with all of these changes spurred by this pandemic, our mission remains unchanged. We are still called to love God, love others, and make disciples.
See you at Mass!
