Endowment Fund

A Gift for The Future

St. John Vianney Endowment Fund

Our parish endowment fund is a specific way of providing long term support for the parish. The endowment fund supports and assists St. John Vianney’s mission by providing an additional source of income for needed programs and services. Gifts to the endowment fund can be channeled to the following key areas:

          •           General Parish Needs
          •           Christian Formation
          •           Parish Grade School
          •           Liturgy and Worship
          •           Social Ministry

A healthy endowment is the solid foundation which we can build upon to ensure a lasting impact on our parish life for years to come.

Humble Beginnings
The St. John Vianney Endowment Fund traces its beginnings to our parish’s founding pastor, Father Paul Lipscomb, and to an initial $69,000 bequest from his estate. When Father Lipscomb retired, parishioners had set up a retirement annuity in his name. The annuity stipulated that, upon Father Lipscomb’s death, the remaining principal be returned to the parish. That was the humble beginning of our endowment fund.

How It Works
The St. John Vianney Endowment Fund is an investment fund in which a principal amount is deposited and left untouched in perpetuity. Only the earnings generated by the principal can be used to support the mission of St. John Vianney Parish. The fund grows through a steady flow of contributions, bequests, and investment earnings. The assets ofthe Endowment are held in a well diversified portfolio, managed by professional assets managers. All guided by an Investment Policy Statement. The investment returns are reviewed quarterly by the Pastor and Endowment Board, which is composed of four parishioners. Information on the fund's performance, assets managers and/or expenses are available upon written request to the Endowment Board.
