Stewardship Committee

To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. - Matthew 25:14-16 |
Role
Stewardship Committee monitors and reviews opportunities for parish members to share gifts of time, talent, and treasure.
Responsibility
Stewardship Committee meets monthly to review weekly financial contributions and assess the impact on the current budget. Working closely with Finance Committee and the Link Office, Stewardship Committee provides recommendations based on recent activity.
Each fall, the Stewardship coordinates a parish-wide campaign inviting members to pledge and commit to sharing time, talent, and treasure for the next year. Stewardship creates the theme of the campaign, leads the writing and collecting of information for the annual report summary and coordinates the publication of the ministry booklet of parish opportunities and contact information. After the campaign, financial pledges are integrated significantly into projections for the parish budget for the upcoming year. Pledges of time and talent are referred to the Link Office and parish leadership for follow-through and connection.
In addition to reviewing gifts of time, talent, and treasure, Stewardship Committee provides information and opportunities for parish members to make lasting gifts through planned giving to parish operations and endowment funds. The Father Lipscomb Society was created in 2008 to recognize parish members who list St. John Vianney as a recipient in their will.
Stewardship Committee receives and reviews fundraising proposals from parish committees and programs. The committee manages the parish fundraising calendar.
Working closely with the Link Office, Stewardship Committee assists with coordinating new parishioner registration, periodic new parishioner welcome receptions, and activities to engage the work of and enhance the faith-journey of all members.
Membership
Membership on the committee is open to parish members. Contact the chair of the committee for more information. Stewardship Committee meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 a.m. (consult the parish calendar to confirm date and room location).
